iPod or iPod mini?

Okay, so now I'm torn. Do I get a 15GB iPod, or a cheaper, cuter, smaller 4GB mini?

I'm in the process of ripping all my CDs to mp3s, and I think I'm going to end up over 4GB...but who would ever need that much music...but what if a song pops into my head and I don't have it on there?

What do y'all think?


Oh, and I still haven't picked a mini color...pink or green...green or pink...still leaning towards pink but...if I get a 15GB, it won't matter anyway.

I mean, nothing wrong with 4 gigs, that'd be like 70+ cds


My collection is like 7Gigs.

But half of that is what my husband likes.

I don't know what I'd do with a player that plays my entire collection. I'd never be able to find the song I really wanted.

Anywho, what bitrate are you ripping at? I'd personally get the 15, but if you're gonna be highly mobile with the unit, you can't beat the mini... hard choice.

Thing is, CD's are still the medium of choice, despite the price.

And if you're one of those asshats who only buy a CD for one or two songs, well, you deserve to be ripped off for liking the bands that put out said CDs.

I don't know, I mean, I'm probably going to walk to class with it every morning (and between classes when I don't have a friend walking with me), maybe listen to it on roadtrips where I'm not driving, and to take my music home with me with having to lug around CDs...eh, I don't know. I think the mini would be handier for my purposes, but eh.

I would rip at 128, just to save the space. You're doing AAC, right? 128 AAC sounds ALMOST as good as MP3 192 (imo). The Apple headphones that come with the 'pods sound awesome, but they're still just ear buds. Unless you're plugging it into a nice stereo, you won't tell the difference.

If you were planning on working out with your 'pod, then i'd get the mini. Otherwise, i'd get the 15GB. Using it as a firewire disc is just too cool.

ipod minis just have gay colors, i suppose theyd be alright for a girl though.
