Tonight, my dog bit me after i grabbed her paw to get her away from the door, so i go downstairs asking where the peroxide is, and my dad asked what I needed it for, so i told him the dog bit me. He immediately starts accusing me of doing something to the dog, so i told him to forget it and called him an asshole. So he gets all pissed off and pushes me, so i pushed him back and he kinda fell into the pantry. He then grabbed my shirt and told me to get out. So i pushed him off me again, and he raises his fist like he's gonna hit me. He didnt, good thing for him, because he would of gotten knocked the fuck out. So i go upstairs, and about 15 minutes later he is apologizing and saying he wants to make this right, so i just walk back upstairs and ignore him. Im 18, what gives him the right to touch me. None of this would have happened if he had any trust in me at all. He's a deuschebag.

So how was everyone elses night?

Hey EllyMay, My dad was abusive when I was growing up. He was rarely physically abusive, but when you're a kid and you've got a grown man standing over you screaming calling you and your mother names, it feels physical. I've been grabbed and pushed and shit and my dad would also later apologize. I think you may be right about your conclusion that he's a deuschebag. I say that only because now I'm 28 and my dad still does the same shit and he gets all possesive and self-righteous and aggressive. He's still the same. I have the feeling that your dad may have character problems that you are now seeing; I'm trying to say that there's a good chance he'll always be this way.
Also keep in mind that people sometimes feel very lost and they stray from the path of what makes them feel good and be happy. Your dad may just be going through a phase.

well...my mom is in the hospital with some sort of infection, and we are not sure what it is, so my night pretty much sucks too. She was haveing a really bad stomach ache, so my dad took her to the hopital, and they admitted her :(

Other than the fact that I think I'm starting to lose the will to live, not too bad.

Your dad can't be too much of a douchebag if he was trying to apologize. You should have heard him out.

My dad was in the Army (so was my mom); as a result, he is extremely fluent in vulgarities. He'd cuss out me and my brother but, he never got physical. Until one day he was cussing out my brother for skipping school and my brother hits him.

To make everything clear, my brother is in no way a weakling. He was an offensive lineman and defensive end in High School and was the biggest and strongest on the team.

Anyway, he knocks my dad. My dad hits him once. That's all that was needed.

My dad is about 5'5" and around 150 pounds. My brother is 6'0" and around 250 pounds.

My brother folds up like a suitcase and starts to cry.

He asked for it, punching his own dad.
